Arsenal Building of 1834, Jackson Barracks
New Orleans, LA

This Katrina-damaged building and surrounding blast wall required delicate brick restoration, replacement of a slate roof and new detached non-invasive MEP systems. This Arsenal/Powder Magazine was part of the original construction at Jackson Barracks in the 1830's. The Arsenal will become a part of the larger Multi-Use Museum Center also designed by SCNZ Architects. This project was approved by the State Historic Preservation Office, FEMA’s Historic Preservation Office and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
