New Orleans, LA
Reconcile New Orleans is a non-profit group that provides life and work skills training to empower at risk youth via a full-service cafe. Their cafe had outgrown the ground floor of the blighted five-story building in Central City which it had occupied since it’s founding in 1996. We worked with the non-profit to renovate and expand the 100 year old structure to deliver a vibrant new restaurant, culinary training and banquet space, educational and life skills training facilities, a new business incubator, offices, and outdoor seating areas that allowed the program to more than double in size and expand into outside catering services.
Additionally, we obtained the necessary waivers and approvals required from HDLC, SHPO, National Park Service, and City of New Orleans Board of Standards and Appeals that were crucial for the both project and its funding.
